Open Face Egg Salad Appetizer
Keep party preparation simple by serving favorite stand by foods in fancy ways. Low-cost egg salad is a crowd favorite. Pair it with delicious French bread and a simple garnish. Egg salad is a versatile sandwich filling and can include many different add ins of your choice. Start with the basic recipe and add chopped celery, grated carrot or any other favorite vegetable.
Ingredients
- 6 hard boiled eggs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons mustard
- Small loaf French bread
- Fresh parsley
Directions
Peel and rinse eggs to remove shells. Chop eggs and put into a small mixing bowl. Add mayonnaise and mustard. Mix thoroughly.
Slice French bread into 12 even pieces. Cover with scoop of egg salad and top with a sprig of fresh parsley.
This recipe serves 12. Cost per serving is roughly 48 cents.
